Located between Ternes and the Monceau ParkArc of triumph – Champs Elysées The Arc of Triumph was erected between 1806 and 1836 on Napoleon’s orders to stand 50 meters high in the middle of Etoile square. This tall monument is also 45 meters wide by 22 meters thick. The Etoile square is so called because of its circular shape that paves the way for twelve large avenues inspired and designed by Baron Haussmann in the 19th century, during his time as a Prefect of the Seine department. The avenues beam around the central point like a star or a sun and bear glorious names such Kléber Avenue, Grande-Armée Avenue, Wagram Avenue and of course Champs-Elysées. The hotel is within short access along Wagram Avenue.
